Stroll down Seaport Boulevard to see the hip neighborhood’s latest public art installation, Air Sea Land, by Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel. Seven vibrant, pop art-inspired sculptures line Seaport’s main street like candy-colored soldiers. Okuda explores the shared history and mythology of humans and animals and alludes to the evolutionary process as his figures evolve from representations of light and water to human forms.

Art lovers can take a brief trip to heaven this weekend starting with the SMFA Art Sale. The annual School of the Museum of Fine Arts sale features thousands of works by new and emerging artists, with options for every taste and price point. It’s a great way for entry-level collectors to get their feet wet while mingling with artists and aficionados from around the city. Walk two minutes to Club Passim for the Nerissa & Katryna Nields Family Show. The Nields sisters started out as an alt-rock band in the ‘90s. Their music had multigenerational appeal but often ended in a mosh pit. Since becoming parents, the musical duo has turned to children’s music with whimsical tunes like “Superhero Soup.” Now they perform a blend of folk rhythms and kids’ music to keep the whole family happy.
