It’s the most upbeat, fun feminist call out you’ll ever attend!

Walk downstairs to have dinner at Chickadee, the acclaimed sit-down restaurant at the Design Center. Named after the state bird of Massachusetts, the place blends New England roots with Mediterranean culinary inspiration. The seasonal menu pulls from local farmers and features handmade pastas, chickpea panisse fries and grilled lamb.

Then What?
Give back in the most stylish way possible at the Susan G. Komen Catwalk for the Cure event, also located at the Design Center. The glamorous evening of cocktails, a silent auction and a runway presentation, benefits local breast cancer aid and research. It’s also a great way to support and learn about local designers, who showcase their collections on the catwalk.

Celebrate (or learn about) the Jewish holiday of Purim with a kids’ aerial arts workshop at the Center for the Arts at the Armory. Purim in the Air features performers from Simply Circus in Newton dressed as Purim characters. They’ll aslo teach kids aerial arts, partner acrobatics, plate spinning and other fun circus acts. This event is recommended for kids ages 2–6 years old and the entrance fee covers the whole family.

Walk five minutes to 3 Little Figs for a snack and a latte after all the acrobatic excitement. Kids can enjoy savory ricotta toast or a baked ham and cheese sandwich with pickled pears and Dijon butter. The café also offers a wide selection of pastries, including its famous savory hand pies.

Then What?
Walk 10 minutes to the Somerville Museum to see its latest exhibit “Our Stories, Our Stuff, Our Somerville.” The show features personal items from Somerville locals that tell the story of the area. It’s a fun way to get to know the town and the neighbors. The museum building is an exhibit in itself — a brick Federal Revival-style building built in the 1920s. We recommend calling in advance to set up an appointment, the hours vary.
